Deputy Director for Strategy and Partnerships

Bobbie joined GLJ-ILRF in September 2020 as Deputy Director for Strategy and Partnerships, bringing 15 years of work in corporate accountability and human rights, with a focus on using law and international advocacy to harness the power of movements. She previously served as Director for Labour Rights and Asia at the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre, where she was part of the leadership team in-charge of strategic and financial decisions. She also oversaw the Centre’s work on labor rights, corporate legal accountability, and the Asia region. Prior to this, she served as Asia Legal Coordinator at the Thailand office of EarthRights International, where she helped build transnational legal strategies to protect people’s rights and the environment from exploitative development. She got her start in social justice work as staff attorney at Saligan or Alternative Legal Assistance Center in the Philippines, where she worked with peasant, urban poor, labor and feminist organizations on precedent-setting litigation, policy advocacy, and paralegal training programs. Outside of her home country the Philippines, she has been based in Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, and is currently in Washington DC.
